1872 Death of Isaac Justice
We learn that this old gentleman died in his home in
this county on Friday morning last. Mr Justice Was
about 83 years of age and had been a citizen of
Pulaski County, we are told for nearly 50 years. He
was a soldier of the war of 1812 and was a pensioner
on the United States government. He had however
we believe only drawn his pension money for 2 or 3 nr
quarters since the recent war (Civil War).
He fought the battles of his country in the pride of OD
manhood, and for more than the allotted three score
and ten years he fought the battle of life. Peace to the
old soldier’s ashes. ghty-three years of age
Isaac Justice came to NE Pulaski County about 1851-ki
with his son-in-law Philip Pritchett from Hancock
County. Philip had married his older daughter Martha
Justice in 1831 in Hancock County. In his pension war
records Isaac states that he married Julia Hudson in
1851 in Hancock County. She was likely the mother of e
his younger daughter Elizabeth who married Joseph
King I and is buried with her infant children in the Mt.
Calvary Cemetery Joseph King !! had one daughter, I
Isabel King Ward who died shortly after her marriage
and birth of a son. This Joseph King is the brother of
Nathan King from whom all the Cary Kings descend.
